  1. Manly in Sydney. Actually ALL the northern beaches in Sydney. Also the Freemantle markets in Perth are cool. Blue Mountains in NSW have some awesome walks.

The Coromandel in NZ ( Hot water beach) Also you have to go kayaking around Abel Tasman at the top of the South Island. You can get double kayaks so you can have a child each! xx Oh and you HAVE to watch the sperm whales in Kaikora. That’s all for now have fun you lucky so and so’s!!! xxx

  2. South Island:
Marlborough – the wineries. Nelson – Hoglund Glass. Mapua – The Smokehouse, Mapua Wharf for delicious smoked fish. Golden Bay – Tata Beach (so special I nearly didn’t mention it). Kaikoura – whale watching and crayfish. North Cantebury – some very good red wine is produced here. Christchurch – I haven’t been back since the earthquake so I’m not sure what places are still operating. However, a drive around the Port Hills will give you views to die for. The drive to Akaroa, ditto. Akaroa is beautiful and has French street names as it was nearly claimed by the French. The drive from Christchurch to Greymouth is stunning, across the main divide of the Southern Alps. The east and west are on different tectonic plates which is obvious in the landscape. North of Greymouth is Punakaiki and the famous Pancake Rocks (horizontal equivalent of The Giant’s Causeway). South to Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers. Depending on how far they have retreated or advanced it’s usually not far to walk to the terminus. Okarito – white herons. Lake Mahinapua – a lovely little lake that is easy to circumnavigate on foot with small children. If you are there in the morning it is sometimes possible to see the reflection of Aoraki Mt Cook. Lake Tekapo – the Church of the Good Shepherd. Also, star-gazing tours because of the lack of light pollution in this area: http://www.earthandskynz.com/window-to-the-universe/en/
Lake Wanaka, Queenstown and Arrowtown for the scenery. Cinema Paradiso (cinema cafe bar) in Wanaka and watch a film on comfy sofas or even from an old Morris Minor. If you are Lord of the Rings fans buy the LOTR Location Guidebook. Dunedin, the Catlins, Stewart Island. How much time do you have?! Enjoy!
