How did we manage to pack a year’s worth of stuff in just a few bags ?

Lots of you have commented on how could we manage to pack a year’s worth of kit and clothing into so few bags ? To share with you our secrets, I have updated my ‘Packing: what do you take when you’re about to go away for a year ?’ post with photos and details of our kit.

I will admit that despite all this extra careful, super planned packing malarky, we forgot Ruben’s PJs and didn’t pack any socks for any of us. As it’s not quite flip-flop weather here in NZ, today we went to an Auckland mall and purchased these essential items, so already the bags will be a bit heavier when we move on to the South Island next week! But hey, that’s not too bad ….
